CAPACITOR DISCHARGE (C.D.) WELD STUDS

Capacitor Discharge (C.D.) Weld Studs are used particularly on components requiring a hidden fastener, such as nameplates, facias, electrical boxes, motor vehicles, catering equipment and domestic appliances. Welded, using a Capacitor Discharge Machine, most welds cannot be detected on the front face of the component. Using this equipment also allows welding of ferrous and non-ferrous materials, including the welding of some dissimmilar materials. These parts can often be welded with projection welders and some spot welders, though some marking of the component is likely if these welding methods are employed. Small size C.D. Studs are often used for earthing points.

C.D. Weld Studs are available in high weldability Mild Steel, in a copper flashed finish, Stainless Steel A2, Aluminium Alloy and Brass. Standard sizes range from M2.5 to M10 and in lengths from 6mm to 50mm, depending upon the diameter.
